Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions

What does Terra Viva VZW do?

We are a Belgian non-profit working to stop deforestation and slow global warming. We protect standing forests, restore degraded land through native planting, monitor forest loss, and advocate for stronger climate and forest policy across Belgium and Europe.

How can I get involved?

You can join a planting day, volunteer your skills, become a member, donate, or simply share our campaigns. Visit our Get Involved page to see all the ways to help.

Where does my donation go?

Donations fund tree planting, forest protection, monitoring tools, and climate advocacy, plus the basic operations that keep the organisation running. You can direct a donation to a specific campaign by naming it in your bank transfer reference.

Do you plant native trees only?

Yes. We prioritise native, climate-resilient species suited to local conditions, because they support biodiversity and give restored woodland the best chance to thrive long term.

Do you work outside Belgium?

We are based in Belgium with a European vision. We coordinate with partners and campaigns across the EU, and our advocacy work focuses on Europe-wide forest and climate policy.

How can my organisation partner with you?

We welcome partnerships with municipalities, schools, companies, and other organisations. Reach out through our Partner With Us page and we'll find a way to collaborate.
